Chemistry
The Discipline of Chemistry at the University of Adelaide has been established since 1885. It is one of the longest running disciplines at the University of Adelaide.
Academic Staff in Chemistry are involved in teaching degrees in Chemistry at Undergraduate and Honours levels and conducting their own research projects. There are several Chemistry awards for high achieving students at level II, III & Honours.
A number of Scholarships are avaliable across the University of Adelaide eg Science Scholarships, Postgraduate Scholarships, Honours Scholarships, Summer Research Scholarships and University Scholarships.
Research in Chemistry is internationally recognized for its excellence. Staff members collaborate with a wide variety of national and international universities and cutting-edge international projects. Research projects range from fundamental studies of the structure and reactivity of molecules, to the development of novel materials for a wide range of applications: from medicinal Chemistry, to solving environment problems, to the development of renewable energy resources and storage devices.
This Research provides a wide range of exciting projects for Honours and Higher Degree Research students. The Chemistry discipline conducts a regular series of Seminars across Australia and overseas during each Semester.
Chemistry occupies the Badger and Johnson Laboratories in the north-western corner of the North Terrace Campus.
